I thought I understood well allowables, but apparently that is incorrect. I own an interest in land in 2-9N-12W, Sabine Parish. There are 3 CULs that, in one configuration or another, involve the sections immediately to the N and to the S of Section 2. I routinely take a look at the allowables for these wells, which change twice a year. I suppose I don't look closely enough, but here's a cut and paste of the allowables from 2 of the wells. My royalty checks are fairly consistent in the…See More

"well, the story first quoted is from the WSJ, less that a week ago. The article was about a particular project, partially financed by DOE, that didn't work out and cost taxpayers money. Those are facts that are neither right nor…"
"well, the article presents facts that were presented in Court, so I don't think we can dismiss this episode because the buzzwords "Obama" and "Solyndra" were used. The company building the plant clearly had numerous…"
"Thanks, Skip. From the news article I linked, it appears that Williams will "farm out" these properties to an operator for future drilling.
Looks like I just have to stand by and see how this plays out."
I got a notice today from CHK's bankruptcy firm that CHK is selling the assets of "South Mansfield E&P, LLC" to Williams Company. The sale includes 50,000 mineral acre leases within the Haynesville Shale.I'm curious if anyone knows what's included within South Mansfield E&P? Here's a story I found about several sales by CHK in the last couple of weeks.…See More

Steve, I will be meeting with the editor of the Shreveport newspaper to discuss the possibility of a series of articles highlighting mineral owner concerns. I am considering including the Comstock units with multiple expired well permits. It would be helpful if I could ask you a few basic questions. If you are willing to help, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Steve, I fully agree with your reply in the recent Dr. Fine/Robert Johnson discussion. I would like to point out that Robert Johnson is not posting out of interest in a discussion but specifically to increase the "web presence" of Dr. Fine. I don't know if he gets paid or not but the fact that he never makes a reply in these discussion threads and "favorites" each one indicates that he is just pumping up the listing of entries for anyone searching Dr. Fine on the Internet. Keith and I have discussed it and doing so isn't against the site rules and occasionally there is one or more members who do reply so Robert has not been banned from posting to GHS. I'm not a big fan of this kind of activity but it is common on the web.
Thanks for the compliment....... it's wonders what makeup and good lighting can do!!!!!!....... I'm married to Marshal Wayne Whatley from Pineville,La. We've been married for 22 years. My first husband was Willie Junkin from Delhi, La. Willie and I divorced in 1979, and Wayne and I were married in 1988.
Good hearing from you Steve. Hope things are well. I guess I look at this as lagniappe. If it comes, it comes. Just a little extra. But if it doesn't, I'm okay. What part of California. I spent my Navy time in San Diego.
Hello! I hope the site is a place for to learn, network and contribute. My name is Keith and I started the site in June of 2008 to open up lines of communication between landowners. We now have over 10,000 members.
As exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More
