Well Permit Pulled due to Walmart Objections

I do not know if this true, but I have heard that the A.T. Martinez well permit (Shuteye Rd in Many, LA) was pulled due to objections from Wal-Mart - and there will be a hearing - if this is true what are other situations that could stop a well from being drilled?

Only speculating here, Shaleeee, but since Wal-Mart has become the new owner of record just recently, they may not have been initially served with a pre-app. notice.

Hopefully this is the case, and after having their say at a hearing, Wal-Mart maybe would not have any objections.

I own forty acres in this unit and have not received notification of a new hearing(should I?).

William, I believe you should be notified once a new unit application is made for your section but you may want to check the hearing schedule on Sonris for anything related to the Pendleton-Many Field.

They don't have hearings for well permits, only have hearings for unit order applications. Has a well permit been posted on SONRIS?

Ask Les B, Shaleee. He posted the thread and the last comment was that he thought he should pull it because the application was withdrawn. The section may have been 22.

Thanks jffree1 - I am going to let this drop - I should not have started the topic without fully understanding the situation - as I said it was only hearsay - what I really was interested in was what situations could cause an (application) to be withdrawn and can there be objections from interested parties that could put a halt on a well being drilled?
