Swapping out processors is a pain.. I never OC them..
Mine generally outlast the motherboards..
As you can see I'm Cheap! I don't even like having to pay for software! So I got to make my puppies last, not fast!
touche, i can get behind thrift, if you get my drift.

i had to check and see when i bought this cpu, it's been over 3 years now. i paid 130ish for it, to get the same performance from stock settings at the time would have cost several hundred more.

this pc broke the mold i have become accustomed to, usually by this point i have found something i want to run that's a little too much and i start looking to replace it. hasn't happened yet.

of course these days it's already all about the quadcores... i'm starting to think hardware's finally outpacing software. one can spend 150 on a chip that will run 4 cores at 3.0ghz+ without any trouble at all, probably last you 5-6 years easy.

watercooled setup like two dogs probably go over 4 no sweat, i'd have to figure out what kind of fsb you'd need for that, probably cost a bit for the right mobo. now that's some processing powah. muy fuerte.

anyway it's fun to talk to other computron geeks. most people just let their eyes glaze and tell me whatever dude, just make it work for X amount of dollars.
I try to match things up when building a new rig. I like to have lots of room to work with thats why I went with a Cooler Master Cosmos case, I liked it so much that I bought a second one. I run a Cooler Master 1000 watt power supply in both rigs. The water cooler is made by Cooler Master and designed for this particular case. I have used AMD processors and Asus motherboards for years. After AMD's acquisition of ATI, I started using the Radeon video cards, I have had trouble with Nvidia cards in the past. When I read about AMD Spider platform I decided to build one, this was my first quad core build. This one is not water cooled and has a 9600 quad core, four 1 gig sticks of OCZ Reaper ram and two Asus 3870 512 meg video cards. It has run smooth for the past 2 1/2 years. I started having trouble with one of the video cards last week. Think I paid $179 a piece for them back then, I bet if I can find one today it would be about 25 bucks. Think I will buy a new matching pair this week.
All that speed isn't an issue if you don't use your machine for gaming..
The power comes in when stiching large scans together like Tobin maps.
try using a different browser. try google chrome or firefox. if the problem persists then it is not because of the browser. at that point, i would consult with tech support.
kj
Or Ubuntu
I have a coworker who gets the same message (via Malwarebytes anti-malware ip blocker) with the same ip above ONLY on this site. I don't get the message maybe because I'm running many more cookie (etc) blockers on my machine.

I suspect it is either a 3rd party cookie, ad or maybe even someone's avatar that hides a redirect to a blacklisted website. Here's the ARIN info:

OrgName: Hosting Services, Inc.
OrgID: HOSTI-20
Address: 164 N Spring Creek Parkway
City: Providence
StateProv: UT
PostalCode: 84332
Country: US
awharris--thanks--what ARIN translate to? Yes so far ONLY this site I have found this message
arin.net - the American Registry of Internet Numbers.

ARIN assigns numbers like 173.244.198.132 to internet providers.

173.244.198.132 traces to 173.244.198.132.static.midphase.com. There's probably a link, an ad, or an image somewhere on GHS that goes to that address.

Midphase.com is a web hosting company. They sell web hosting services to others. It appears that Malwarebytes thinks that midphase has had hackers hosting malware on their servers, and wasn't doing enough to keep malware off of their servers, so Malwarebytes put the midphase.com web sites in their "bad site" list.

This is a way antivirus vendors try to force hosting companies to police the web sites they host.

It doesn't mean that the 173.244.198.132 site actually has any malware on it. It doesn't mean that whatever link on Gohaynesvilleshale.com goes to 173.244.198.132 is actually dangerous. It's entirely possible that midphase.com is a legitimate company that hosts legitimate companies and one of their clients is a hacker, or simply that one of their sites has been hacked.

However, it COULD mean that 173.244.198.132 is a real malware site, and that there's a dangerous link somewhere in one of the ads or other links on GHS.
The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) - they are the people who translate the x.x.x.x numbers into recognizable text.

I did a quick investigation and, unless I'm mistaken, the offending item is a "facebook" picture tab (hosted on photobucket) ONLY on the main page. It's probably a false-positive for virus/malware.
nice to have gurus and nerds around thanks for info a learning process
