I am an unleased mineral owner on a section that has a producing gas well on it. Section 34 range 11, Samson Contour. It has been producing since last october,2009. I have recieved nothing from the company regaurding operations or anything else. Should I recieve anything at all from them? I have been told I should have recieved an owner number. To date I have recieved nothing. When should an UMO expect to start seeing royalties after a well has been put on the market?

I would think that if 20% or more are unleased the well will not get drilled.
It's a fact they will drill with 10% unleased. At 20%? likely no drilling.
C, that is kinda like the difference between a depression and a recession. A recession is when my friend is out of work and a depression is when I'm out of work. Most sections/units get drilled because most folks choose not to go the UMI route. However, if I choose to lease and have a strong desire for a well and associated royalty income from the minerals in my section, but an 80 acre mineral owner does not, then it quickly becomes a depression for me!
we know they'll drill with 10% unleased. 80 acres out of 640? Dunno. But, you'll find out near the end of your primary term.
I know of two different sections which were unitized with a 120-acre tract unleased. In one case, the owner eventually signed a lease after drilling started. In the other case, drilling has yet to begin.
now thats a great idea P.G. i have always been open to a good lease, but i'll sign nothing from anyone that will look me in the eye and lie to me. would any of you?
One thing that burns my butt is the landman that will go in on a new project and single out the 70 years and above older ladies and get them to sign first. There was so much of that going on at the first of this play and it is still going on in the new areas of the play. And it is just not the older folks that they do this to, many can fall for their game under the right circumstances.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
