S20-T15N-R14W Chesapeake Haynesville Unit, Well Permit and Drilling Rig

Chesapeake Operating: (1) submitted a 640 acre Haynesville unit application for Section 20 dated 3/24/10, (2) a Baton Rouge hearing on the application was held 5/4/10, and (3) the field order No. 191-H-104 dated 6/7/10 designated S20-T15N-R14W as Haynesville Zone, Reservoir A, Unit HA RA SU156.

Chesapeake obtained a horizontal well permit (242547) dated 12/21/10 that expires 6/18/11, and according to Keith Mauck's “Drilling Rig Locations” discussion on January 14 the Chesapeake #58 drilling rig has been assigned.  The Sonris website for this well is:

I have been considering a proposed Chesapeake lease for several months for depths below 6500 feet. If or when a HA well is drilled will that resolve the question about this section being HBP by the shallow Pettit well No. 220475 in the southwest corner of Section 20 just South of the Texaco station? 
There 2 dwellings in the Southwest corner of Section 20 so that may explain why the proposed drill site is 908 ft from the South section line but why is the bottom hole location 990 feet from the West section line?

Encana has completed some of their wells with 20 stage fracs, which have produced some pretty good IPs.
FXEF, Chesapeake did a 23 stage fracture treatment in DeSoto Parish.

Did the 23-stage fracture result in a better well?  Can we tell if the well's IP was significantly higher than other wells in the region with fewer fractures?

Henry, there is no clear indication the well had any better results than others in the area.  Of course the size of frac stages vary also between wells so the 23-stage treatment amy be similar in total size.

 

Each operator has experimented with various designs (# stages, stage size, cluster spacing, etc) and have likely arrived at their preferred base design. 

It would be helpful if everyone would post the well numbers for those 20 to 23 stage fracs so anyone interested could follow their long term production and decline rates.   Is their way other than contacting the operator to determine the number of frac stages for a well if it is not clearly shown in the Scout info? Thanks.

The details of the frac stages are contained in the Final Completion Report form filed with the state.  That report is in the well file of each well contained in the SONRIS Classic (Java) portion of the database, not in SONRIS Lite.

Les, thanks for your time and effort to compile this list.  Thanks also for all the many, many valuable responses you and Skip Peel have made for so many people here over the years since 2008.
Robert, a 12-stage fracture treatment is on the low side now as 14 stages is probably the most common. 

Finally, 6 months after "TURN TO SALES" and "WAITING ON PIPELINE"  last May the Jones HA well has been completed and changed to production status code 10.  Maybe royalty checks sometime next year.  How does "14,256 MCFD and 6209# FP rank among all completed wells?
