Nobody has mentioned this well, which appears to be somewhat of a sleeper.  Although Nelson/Pryme have drilled wells in this field about 5-6 miles to the NE, it will be interesting to see what Anadarko can do!

Dominique No. 1, Serial No. 243229.  This well is right on the St. Landry/Avoyelles line and is most certainly a unit well for the  AUS C RB SUA, North Bayou Jack Field.

TD is shown as 23,200' and it is currently drilling at 14,178' on 6/27.

This is a really important well for N. Bayou Jack and Moncrief fields, including acreage in NE St. Landry, SW Avoyelles and on into Pointe Coupee.

My family owns land in the immediate vicinity, so I'm praying this is a barn-burner!

I always thought that the "allowable" is the well test rate on choke.
bulldog, are you saying the well is completed and flowing?  Where did you see an "allowable" report?  There is no report in the database yet.

Skip,

The test on the Deshotels by Nelson/Pryme should be in today or tomorrow unless they are having problems with the completion..

From SONRIS:

WELL ALLOWABLES

EFFECTIVE DATE END DATE LUW CODE LUW TYPE CODE ALLOWABLE ESTIMATED POTENTIAL CURRENT ALLOWABLE TYPE
09/06/2011 09/16/2011 2300 0 1

The allowable type of "1" denotes an OIL allowable.

"2" is Gas and "3" is Dry Gas

The allowable is their maximum projected test rate. The state has to approve that the rate isn't going to be damaging to the producing formation.

This is in no way what the well is making it's just an idicaiton of what Anadarko thinks the well is capable of.

I do not believe it matters if it is on choke or not. It is simply a maximum daily flow rate approved by the state during a specified time period. It may need to be on choke to meet that specified allowable though.

Just got off the phone with the Lafayette Conservation office. Please see: http://sonlite.dnr.state.la.us/sundown/cart_prod/cart_con_wellinfo2

He's telling me that I can safely assume over the testing period (9/6 - 9/16), they flowed 2,300 BOPD. That's over an 11 day period - so do the math. He also mentioned that on Sonris, a key section to look for is "Well LUW Allowable". When updated, this section would also note Anadarko's expectations regrading the Dominique #27. The well also has a Test Clearance of "5".

We are three days short of Sept. 16, so it would seem the figure must be a projected amount.

Is Sept 6-16 period the same as the flow testing?

Also, a worker on one of the Deshotel well sites said the tankers moving in and out activity has picked up lately, whatever that means. I guess they are carrying water.

Abington,

The Deshotels well should be under test if they haven't had any completion problems. If my figures are correct then they should be hauling 10-15 truck loads of oil out per day. I don't think they are carrying water.

Wow, SONRIS does show a 2,300 BOPD allowable!  I know that won't be actual, but still very impressive!

Thanks for the info Old Scout.
Huguet - that would indeed be way up there. 2,300 Per Day? Hmmmm... there's got to be more to the story. Stay tuned....

Old Scout/Hugurt,

The Austin Chalk is capable of producing at that rate or more on an IP in an area with good fractures and a clean completion. How long it produces at that rate remains to be seen. Also, there can be downhole problems develop at any time.

Abington,

Any info on tanker trucks leaving the Dehotels site?
