clarifying my question.   are newton and/or chambers co. in the austin chalk?    judy

I presume you are talking about counties in Texas.  I would do a search under "Eagle Ford."  Eagle Ford is closely associated with Tuscaloosa Marine Shale in Louisiana.  So I think parts of Newton County may indeed lie within the boundaries of Austion Chalk/Tuscaloosa Marine Shale/Eagle Ford formations.

I don't know much about the area at all but I'd be interested in anything regarding Newton, County as well.  Is is or just part in the Austin Chalk and if so, what part?

thanks

MJ
