CHESAPEAKE WINDS DOWN DRILLING IN THE HAYNESVILLE PLAY

Noticing that I had not seen a new drilling permit for CHK in some time, I checked to see the date of their last Haynesville (HA) permit.  It was S/N 244935, HA RA SUI; Gorman 23-15-11H #1, in the Swan Lake Field, Bossier Parish on May 23rd.  Reviewing the last 100 HA wells permitted, I find the following:

 

Code 03 - Permit Expired:  15 (13 were for alternate unit wells)

 

Code 31 - Shut-In Dry Hole, Future Utility:  9 (8 are for wells drilled but not fraced, 1 is Waiting On Pipeline)

 

Code 10 - Completed: 6

 

Code 01 - Permitted: 70  (24 are alternate well permits)

 

The 70 Code 01wells break out as follows:

Waiting On Completion (Drilled but not completed): 25

Completed, Not Producing (Waiting On Pipeline, Tubing, Etc.): 6

Completed And Potentialed, Production Not Yet Reported:  3

Completed, Shut-In: 1

Drilling: 4

 

This leaves 31 permits still in force based on reporting to the state and entries on SONRIS Lite.  There are only three drilling rigs reporting drilling for CHK in LA as of Friday (Rigdata Weekly Rig Report).  It would seem reasonable that the majority of these 31 remaining permits are for alternate unit wells that will expire and not be drilled.  IMO, barring any new permits, CHK will likely cease to drill  LA HA wells in the next 60 to 90 days.

Will talk to him this week about that..thanks..Yes  he good  ..in fact when I advised the land man in our initial talk who my attorney was he was somewhat surprised.

Well good might not be word, experienced is probably more respectful.

Off topic...but does anyone out there get BP checks?  Historically over four years the check has been in mailbox regular as clockwork..nice amount.  But no check..and not going to be one for June..  No explanation, but no money. 

I have three sources that keep me informed on their royalties and leases.  The wells range from Louisiana to WEst TExas to Oklahoma.  Two have reported neg. balances and now with BP this one gets no royalty at all.


My only info back was that right now NG is $2.64 and rising on market...and oil is holding..but that have not read anything about BP cutting back  and that the cut back would have had to have been couple months ago.

I know that people who are used to getting that mail box money have to be kind of wary and worried.

Krky-- you could call their Houston office 281-366-2000 and ask who you can talk with about royalty owner relationship--you will need your payee # and wells you receive royalty payment on. Or check your check stub info there should be a phone # to call with questions. One or other should get you to person that can answer your questions -- good luck

Already done..

waiting for "trace" of the problem..might hear something today.

NOT my well.  This owner is part of my network of "six degrees of separation" information.

Might should write a novel about our little grandmothers network..it spreads across the country..you would be surprised what among us we learn and share with each other.

All of us are loyal Americans and would never do anything that didn't enhance our democracy.  We were the generation that spent time under our desks to protect us from Atom Bombs and who's neighbors build bomb shelters.
