Chesapeake is robbing us...where are our local politicians?

Chesapeake reports they sold our gas at the following prices:

April $1.07
May $1.30
June $1.43


I hope each and every elected official who reads this post understands that you have an obligation to represent the people who elected you. Stop allowing these operators to steal from us! Dont tell me its a civil matter, get an attorney, blah blah and blah. Introduce some legislation to stop this theft or plan in working for chesapeake after the next election

Where it becomes painfully clear is when it is a joint venture and you compare royaltys. It is larcency plain and simple.

All landowners need to start a Cheasapeak boycott if u r leased by Cheasapeak and do not have a well yet do not re lease with them u know they are not going to pay the original lease amount, so they will break the lease and come back with a much cheaper offer. DON'T take it. It is better to wait on another company. We need to get the word out to all the Shale plays you will be discounting ur mineral assets way more than 50% if u lease with Cheasapeak !! To many good companies out there like Petohawk and Shell that don't cheat the landowner !! Natural gas demand will go up prices Will go up!! Cheasapeak has to live with the reputation it has made!! We need to let all new Shale plays know how they operate!!

I think anyone who reads this forum and who is leased by CHK and hasn't gotten a well is likely more worried/afraid that CHK will drill a well than worried about getting CHK to renew their lease..

Like thinking..Oh My Gosh..what have I done?..after signing with them the first time...

I know that Petrohawk does not deduct costs out of royalty payments.  And as far as the CHK boycott, when the Magnolia vs Chesapeake goes to trial in Federal Court in Shreveport, all royalty owners that are pissed at Chesapeake should show up on the courthouse steps the morning of the trial and protest with signs and everything.  Maybe that will get the media's attention!!!

I wish I knew how to warn new lease signers. CHK is always worried about their community or their reputation, well I wish everyone could read how they cheat the landowner

yes, anyone who signs a new lease with chk is not thinking too good. At least they got rid of the ceo , mcLendon who was bankrupting the company..

I wish i knew what i know now. Chesapeake would not have one of my leases. the others i did not have much choice. And I knew the broker for them was lying and i still signed at a higher price, but if i knew what i do now the price would never be high enough.
