Limping along. Just enough, I surmise, to keep it going.
What is the max flow you could get out of a 16/64 choke?
Wouldn't that depend on the pressure behind the flow?
Yup. 16/64" is a 1/4 inch choke. That could allow quite a bit of flow if the pressure is up.

Drip, drip, drip, drip. Needs to be reclassified as a gas well. At the current rate of return it will be maybe 10 years before the well is paid for or even longer. Andarko is done us in. It will be another 10 years before someone will drill in the Austin Chalk in Pointe Coupee.
Oh well, another 10 years and another leasing cycle. I am afraid the TMS is to deep for us, may even be to deep for West Feliciana. Mississippi is doing okay.
The pay zone seems to be much larger in the deeper zones of the TMS. It may cost more to drill but I believe it will be gusher! Now lets see someone that knows the TMS try.
Well I hope so. Our place is across the river from West Feliciana yet we are leased for Austin Chalk while every thing a mile away is TMS. Go figure. I wish Geology were that precise. We shall see but I am betting on the 10 year lease cycle.
I believe you will see some activity in W.Fel. in 2014 and possibly before the end of 2013. Goodrich said yesterday that they were going to start testing their drilling program on the Devon acreage right away - 4th quarter of this year, so that they can prove to Sinopec that they can make it work. Sinopec is the 5th largest company in the world in revenues and Goodrich needs their $. Goodrich said that after getting access to the Devon well logs, he is convinced that 75% of Devon's acreage was as good as where they are drilling now in Ms. - several (like Cortez's CEO recently) have said La. acreage will be the sweet spot. All of Devon's property is in La. and a lot is in W.Fel. Also, Sanchez Energy just added Stone Energy's acreage to theirs and and now controls over 100k acres in the TMS. They are preparing to start drilling. Sanchez is about the same size as Goodrich with 3-4 rigs. I believe we are at the beginning of a boom time all across the TMS. IMO
As I said, "I hope so." My cousin who lives out on the place facing the river, has a son that is a Geologist. He is working in the Gulf. But neither one of them is jumping with joy and that kinda tells me things are not that great. We know there is gas as it was once in production but that is deep gas, maybe 18,000 to 18,500 and way to costly to drill at the moment with the current price of gas. So as long as the price of oil hovers around $100 a barrel interest will stay active. But interest don't pay the bills.

Have you seen the Goodrich map. I always thought we were leased to Anadarko but the yellow blob in Pointe Coupee on the Goodrich map looks like it is right over the Morganza spillway. If you get a chance take a look and tell me what you think. You can find it on Kirk's sight.

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
