Anyone local to the Avoyelles area hearing anything about the Eagles Ranch Well? It appears that they recently finished drilling well and should be moving frac crews on location soon.

Major flattening out in production - interesting (and expected for this type of reservoir). Similar in style to what I presented at NARO talk in Marksville

Thought the well had been hooked up to gas pipeline.  Saw gas flare last night after not seeing for a few weeks.  Just thought I'd pass this on.

Thanks for that update.

As an FYI, EOG has used a "flare" system in the past in E Tx that is not a visible flare / it is an enclosed gas burn off system. They may have had that in place here prior to installing a "normal" flare

John

Thanks for posting - last three months show very flat production and constant GOR / only about 4-5% oil production decline per month.

But 88% decline from max production month volume (10/2017).

Consistent GOR since production started is a positive.

Here is an interesting observation - I have DrilingInfo.com subscription and it shows a comment about "gas lift" for this well associated with the 4/5/18 test date. This is after showing "flowing" on previous two test dates reported.

On SONRIS, there is no comment (either flowing or otherwise) as to the test dates.

Skip or anyone else who is SONRIS savvy - have you seen anything in the filed paperwork that indicates if gas lift was installed earlier this year?

Do changes in well production approach (e.g. pumping vs gas lift vs ESP vs whatever) normally show up in SONRIS?

Thinking more about recent comments from JMS (10/1/2018) about seeing flare on location.

This flare could be tied to an instance where the gas lift (which is a closed circulating gas injection and recovery system) was "off line" and the gas had to be flared before getting that closed loop system operational again.

Just thinking out loud on this situation. The next few months to the end of the year should be interesting to see as to production consistency / decline and any associated filings on SONRIS.

Rock Man did you see the October 16 Well Log that is on Sonris for Eagles Ranch?  I was wondering if you could interpret some of the data for us.

I have not seen that log / will try to look at it later when I get some time

Do you mean the Induction Gamma ray log that is dated 10/16/17? If it just posted, I figure that EOG requested a year long proprietary period so as to keep info from public record.

If this is the log you are talking about, it is the open hole log in the pilot hole that goes thru the AC and into the underlying section. Being that this is only a small scale version, one does not get the detail that a 5" log would give you (e.g. porosity data). But the Gamma Ray and Resistivity info allows you to pick tops as well as gives one a general idea of reservoir quality.

Difficult to explain log details via this discussion site without being about to "point out" specific aspects of the log and what it is telling us.

Yes that is the one that I was referring to.

A few more comments ................

This log is a composite of two different logging runs. Casing had to be run prior to running Log #2.

Total TD of well is 16,295' with bottom hole temperature of 278 degrees (probably hotter than that by 10-15 degrees). Base of the Austin Chalk is @ 15,932' - well TD's above the TMS section.

Note that EOG plugged back in this wellbore and drilled their lateral N to S (downdip) with horizontal section starting about lateral starting about 1000' south of the surface location of the well (after drilling curve to horizontal) with TVD around 15,850' (Lower AC).

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling
