THE GHS HAYNESVILLE SHALE RIG TRACKER.  2023

I'll update each week so we can follow the rig count.  I am only counting rigs drilling the Haynesville and Bossier formations.  Many industry rig numbers are for the "Haynesville Area",  however they may defined that, and includes wells drilling other formations.

Aethon with 9 active rigs is impressive operation - both as to capital expenses and operational logistics

It's the first time in a while that Aethon hasn't had a rig on their Louisiana acreage.   The six in Angelina are BSM.  I'm not sure about the one rig in Nacogdouches.

Focus on their honey hole. Some of this effort may be lease related - get it drilled and HBP

Aethon's current Angelina County focus is drilled but uncompleted wells (my opinion). It's my guess that Aethon is preparing for higher natgas pricing next year when additional LNG capacity comes online.

Ready to frac and turn on. Makes sense- thanks

In a sim. situation w/ 2 PNG (ROBNSN 10&15-14-16) wells completed 1/18/23 also ready to be fracked & apparently waiting on higher NG pricing.

The History of GoHaynesvilleShale.com

GoHaynesvilleShale.com (GHS) was launched in 2008 during a pivotal moment in the energy industry, when the Haynesville Shale formation—a massive natural gas reserve lying beneath parts of northwest Louisiana, east Texas, and southwest Arkansas—was beginning to attract national attention. The website was the brainchild of Keith Mauck, a landowner and entrepreneur who recognized a pressing need: landowners in the region had little access to…
