a family member has land in Union County, AR. Recently approached for an O&G lease that was very, very modest. Anyone else in Union County aware of this activity, any info on the Ten Mile Projec is appreciated.

Steve, this is a duplicate post on the Main Page, Shale Related Topics. The discussion needs to be in the Union County Group. I would expect any lease offered currently in Union County to be modest considering there is nothing other than the traditional shallow oil interest.
And quite possibly appropriate depending on what you are leasing. The days of "all depth" leases should be over for any savvy mineral manager. Personally I would consider accepting a lease at that bonus per acre for shallow rights as long as the other lease terms were acceptable.
