The Haynesville formation thins out as you progress into south Angelina County and isn't prospective. The nearest prospective area going further south is mid-Tyler County where Black Stone Minerals is attempting to attract drilling interest in the Austin Chalk formation using improved hydraulic fracturing methods. Their area of interest is in the Brookeland Field where they have a substantial mineral ownership (derived from the W.T. Carter Lumber Company heirs who established Black Stone Minerals).

Regarding Survey A-19, there’s been legacy interest in the Manning Sands but the test production wasn’t sufficient for any commercial development. My opinion.

Survey A-19 in an area of the county will historically no production. Not anywhere near of the core area of the horizontal drilling (centered in northern part of the county)

Recently leased my land on the John D. Windham survey in trinity county. 7 miles south of Leor Forestar #1. It was leased back in 2009 and expired. Is there any new action somewhere?

Ryan--agree with Mike R-- have good attorney assit with writing and review lease-- with 90 acres net mineral it's worth every dollar in fee. Although would request what his fee is up front. The  Bonus depends on what going on in area / your main money in ground and you have to have some one drill it to get the money. Find out who operator is before signing would not sign with some people like CHK, etc  Nice to have90 acres net minerals in a possible producing zone :-)

Actually 1/5 correction on royalty. Seeing if fair market value.

Ryan Mott Oliver---- is that a typo I hope never seen a lease offer of only 5% royalty if so answer is NO and in today's time no reason to ever give a 5 year term lease the maximum three year with or without two year option . Are you sure it may be 25%

New Lease Offer
I have been offered $300 per min acres at 5% royalty for 5 yr lease in Lufkin No Option. Is this fair market value for shale?

Any new drilling or leasing news for Chandler Johnson southern Angelina County? I saw that the national infrastructure is being built by the Chinese which should help jump start things.

Devon applied for a permit for  Jame Lime Horizontal 8 miles NE of Lufkin

I heard that where Angelina County thins out there might be some shale play in
Bossier Sand? We had leases in past at Chandler Johnson A-19 with regular oil wells drilled and that shale might be easier to reach than deeper drilling planned in the future when cost effective!!
