SEISMIC ACTIVITY IS FINALLY HAPPENING!

After signing a permit for siesmic testing (with Green Bear) several monthes ago all I did was sit back and wait. Well, it looks like the wait is over. Someone came out today to get started.  The company name on the side of his truck said "HELIX".

He could not find the flags that designated where was to start drilling holes so he said he would be back this afternoon. He said that after he completes this task someone would be out in approx.

3 weeks to start blasting. Looks like Joe was right(as usual) when he

said that this area was heating up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about Pointe Coupee Parish.  We have a feeler from Anadarko regarding Lacour Field (or at least it is an undefined field with a Pennington Well on it on Lacour property).  No mention of unit size yet.  Since first conversation lease money went from $150 for three years to $175 plus options for two more years at $75 per year with a royality of 20%.  Now they have added a royality of 25% for below the Austin Chalk (which would be the Tuscaloosa Trend).

We have not signed up yet but probably will do so.  The place has been leased on and off for more than 60 years.  This is the most activity in about 15 years or so,

Once had about four acres in production and did well, then the well sanded over and stop producing.  Now the well is capped and closed off.

Do we know there are minerals down there.  Just waiting for price and technology to get to it.

That sound reasonable to me DIG.  Go for it.  The group title and logo certainly support a Texas/LA. trend.

Wondering if it might be beneficial to have this group cover Austin Chalk in general, and not just AC in Louisiana.   The trend arches all the way from Central Texas Eastward.    Might help to get the membership up on the group and certainly there is much information on the Chalk out of Texas that could prove helpful to those who are in the continuation of the trend into Louisiana.

Forty members?  That's it?  Come on guys we need to get this group up to 100.  Please pass the word.  More participation will bring more information of value to all.

It is good to see Swift Energy take some interest is the area to the south, but I don't see the small mineral owners getting much benefit from it until the elite Washington idiots include Natural Gas and oil produced domestically into a real energy program.  We need to be telling Opec that we are going to produce our own energy at a price far less than they are charging us.  Old Donald Trump had the right idea.  Our message to Washington should be, "Washington  get out of my way, or I will drill you right into the ground"

Anyone think we will have renewed interest in Rapides, Lecompte-Forest Hill area like 1995-96 ? Any comments welcome. Thanks Charles

We have two pieces of property in the Slagle area, Vernon Parish. On the first piece (40 acres) a rep from a company contacted parents by mistake and left message to call if interested. They made contact again on the second piece (25 acres) two weeks ago, different person but same company. They made a tentative offer of 125.00 an acre with 1/5 royalties. This offer was only for the second piece and stated the first piece was in a different area handled by a another rep. Came back and made a lower offer of 100.00 an acre with same royalties. We have not leased. Would like to hear more about the drilling in Vernon. Was it not successful?

Is East Feliciana considered to be in the Austin Chalk and if so is  there any

activity or interest in the area for this?
