Samson Lone Star will drill the Mildred 2H to 4,000 feet in the Huxley (Fredricksburg) Field 12.5 miles east of Shelbyville in the Marshall, R Survey, A-477.


Thomas Gas Unit Well 7 will be drilled to 15,000 feet in the Stockman, South (Pettit) Field. Location is 11.5 miles southwest of Center in the Hooper, G W Survey, A-281. Operator in charge of the drilling is known as XTO Energy. It may be drilled in the Stockman, South (Travis Peak) Field, Stockman (Cotton Valley) Field, or a wildcat field.


Carthage, South (Cotton Valley) Field will see the R&M Farms Unit 4 drilled by Classic Operating to 10,000 feet in the Smith, W Survey, A-631 one mile north of Joaquin. It may also be drilled in the Joaquin (Wiener) Field.


In a lease 9.5 miles southwest of Center in the Angie (James Lime) Field, the McSwain, Et Al Gas Unit Well No. 2 will be drilled by Newfield Exploration to 8,000 feet in the Odom, Lewis Survey, A-540. It may also be drilled in a wildcat field.


XTO Energy will drill two wells to 15,000 feet in Stockman (Cotton Valley Field. They are Hughes Gas Unit Well Nos. 2 and 3. No. 2 is 12.1 miles southwest of Center in the Lester, JH Survey, A-439. No. 3 is 12.5 miles southwest of Center in the Wisener, W Survey, A-778. Both may be drilled in a wildcat, Stockman, South (Pettit), or the Stockman, South (Travis Peak) fields.


Newfield Exploration will drill the Bradshaw Gas Unit Well No. 2H to 8,000 feet in the Angie (James Lime) Field 9.5 miles southwest of Center in the Anthony, EP Survey, A-26. This well may also be drilled in a wildcat field.


In a lease 10 miles southwest of Center in the Stockman (Travis Peak) Field, Encore Operating will drill the Grant Well No. 6 to 9,000 feet in the Wheel, M Survey, A-795. It may also be drilled in the Stockman (Pettit-Lower) Field.

Completions in Shelby County from the East Texas Drilling Report:
Shelby County


The Sabine Allen “S” Well No.2FH, the Sabine Allen “A” Well No.5FH and the Sabine Allen Well No.3H are located 0.80 miles northeast of Huxley in the Huxley Field. Ellora Operating, L.P. has completed the No.2FH well to a depth of 6,000-feet, the No.5FH well to a depth of 6,234-feet and the No.3H to a depth of 8,660-feet. When gauged on a 20/64-inch choke, the No.2FH well flowed with 242 barrels of crude. When gauged on a 20/64-inch choke, the No.5FH well flowed with 87 barrels of crude. Production is in the Fredericksburg formation. When gauged on a 20/64-inch choke, the No.3H potentialed 1.016 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the 6100 formation.

The Angie Field has seen the Kennedy Trust Hughes Well No.1H completed by Noble Energy Inc. This well is located 5.3 miles southwest from Center with a depth of 12,219-feet. This well was gauged on a 30/64-inch choke and potentialed 504,000 cubic feet of gas. Production is in the James Lime formation.

When gauged on a 20/64-inch choke, the Solomon Well No.1 potentialed 370,000 cubic feet of gas. This well was completed by Atoka Operating, Inc. in a Wildcat Field to a depth of 7,716-feet. Location is four miles west from Timpson.

In a lease 1.36 miles northeast of Joaquin in the Joaquin Field, the Joaquin SWD Well No.1 has been completed by Key Energy Service LLC. This well bottoms at 5,354-feet. No test data recorded. Production is in the Gloyd formation.

Encore Operating, L.P. has completed the Nobles Well No.7 in the Stockman Field. The No.7 is located 8.8 miles southeast from Center with a depth of 8,723-feet. When gauged on a 36/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 1.221 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Travis Peak formation.

The Southern Egg Ranch Well No.2 is located 4.8 miles southwest of Center with a depth of 10,556-feet. This well was completed by Buffco Production, Inc. When gauged on a 8/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 1.565 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Cotton Valley formation.

The Huxley Field has seen Ellora Operating, L.P. complete the Alexander Unit Well No.4H to a depth of 11,401-feet. This well is located 0.91 miles northwest of Dreka and potentialed 1.256 million cubic feet of gas when gauged on a 20/64-inch choke. Production is in the 6100 formation.

The Grant Well No.7 and the Wheeler Well No.9 will be drilled by Encore Operating, L.P. to a depth of 9,000-feet in the Stockman (Travis Peak) Field. The No.7 well will be located ten miles southwest from Center in the Wheeler, M Survey, A-795. The No.9 well will be located 9.8 miles southwest from Center in the Hopkins, D Survey, A-302. These wells may also be drilled in the Stockman (Pettit-Lower) Field.

In a lease 9.6 miles southwest from Center, in the Stockman (Cotton Valley) Field, the Pate “A” Well No.2 will be drilled by Devon Energy Production Company, L.P. This well will bottom at 15,000-feet in the Hinton, J Survey, A-289 and may also be drilled in a Wildcat Field.

Stroud Petroleum, Inc. will drill the Mora Well No.1R in a Wildcat Field. This well will be located 13.5 miles southwest from Center in the Moore, R N Survey, A-839 with a depth of 12,000-feet. This well may also be drilled in the Stockman, South (Pettit) Field, the Martinsville, Southeast (James) Field or the Stockman, South (Travis Peak) Field.

Info on new drilling in Shelby Co. per the East Texas Drilling reports:
Shelby County
Samson Lone Star will drill the Larcie GU 1 Well No. 2 to 11,500 feet in the Tenaha, South (Cotton Valley) Field. The well is 2.5 miles northwest of Tenaha in the Sullins, J Survey, A-636. It may be drilled in the Tenaha, SW (Travis Peak) Field, wildcat field, Davsun (Paluxy) Field, Tenaha (Jurassic) Field, or Tenaha (Glen Rose) Field.

The Warren Unit Well No. 1 will be drilled 10.5 miles southwest of Center in the Stockman (Cotton Valley) Field. This well will be drilled by Devon Energy Production to 15,000 feet in the McClellan, H Survey, A-470. This well may also be drilled in a wildcat field.

In a lease 13.4 miles southeast of Center in a wildcat field, the H.H. U.S.A. Well No. 1 will be drilled by Marathon Oil to 15,000 feet in the Forsyth, J Survey, A-204.
