Renee,  Unfortunately things are pretty quiet these days in this area of Shelby County.     Devon drilled their Adams 1-H well directly adjacent to that J.Tutt survey and the results for the Haynesville completion came in at a dissappointing 1.5 mm/cfd initial report and the well has only produced under 0.2 BCF of gas in the 7 months of production that have been reported.     Devon has subsequently pulled back from additional drilling and leasing in this region.     I can emphasize with you, as our own minerals are directly next door to this well also.     Will be curious to see what happens later this year as some of the 3 year terms from Devon's Summer/Fall 2008 leases come up to term as to whether they will renew and wait for better NG prices or whether they will let the leases expire.    The current maps for Bossier Shale still show this area as a good spot, so hopefully someone will come back to the area at a later date to drill those Bossier wells in the future when (if?) NG prices do improve.

XTO still has 8 rigs down here but they are scattered over three counties.  Exco and EOG are still fairly busy in Nac. and San Augustine but I think they will have most of the HBP drilling finished up this year so if the gas price doesn't improve later this year, I think you will see a lot of rigs moving out of the trough.

Devon and a few others are drilling CV wells up north where they have a chance at finding a little condensate.  And, there is a huge rumor running through Harrison and Panola that someone brought in a nice  oil well.  Nothing substantial to back it up yet, though, so stay tuned...

jfree1--- it maybe the location of NW Shelby more than anything plus you are correct Devon like all the others are following oil and gas with good liquids and the east texas shale is dry gas and moving out of marginal play at 3.75 NG prices--will need $7+ to come back. Most are still active in the south west shelby into san augustine and SE Nacgodoches county where they are finding well 15-20 mmcf+ IPs

Carl, I am hearing the same story all over this area and not just NW Shelby County.  Devon isn't keen on drilling for Haynesville gas at the moment.

So is Devon still leasing?  They did not exercise the option on my land SE of Tenaha near Old Home community.

adubu, I haven't sifted through the reports to try to determine which are Bossier completions and XTO never tells.

jffree1----are all the XTO wells IP completions  Haynesville or some Bossier Shale?
