I have noticed that the tax rate that Louisiana applies to well production varies a lot, like 10 times more for some wells vs others nearby. Does this have to do with when the wells were completed?

A few days ago I received royalty checks from Silverhill production on wells in Caddo Parish, LA.The checks are actually prepared and mailed by another company in Pennsylvania that processes payments. I had been receiving vouchers with each check. Now I am instructed to signup on a site (Energylink) to view vouchers. I and some other family members are getting royalties from Haynesville Shale wells in Caddo Parish. This is through a lease we signed in 2017. We are getting division orders for an old lease that dates to the 80's for an old oil well that has not had any production since April 2019.
