Haynesville Shale Basics for the Newbies out there

Since this site has gotten so big and there are so many newbies on here, I thought I would do a little basics outline for folks this time. Let me prefice this by saying that leasing has slowed to a crawl at this point and Chesapeake is backing out of many deals in areas they do not hold the majority. That said, I do think the market will stabalize and the leasing activity will ebb and flow for the next several years so information about drilling and leasing is still relevant. BUILDING A MINERAL ESTATE FILE

Every mineral owner should assemble, and keep current, a file of pertinent information regarding their mineral estate.
