Hi! My name is Katie and I work for Chesapeake Energy in the Haynesville. I would like to open this blog to answer any questions or help guide you through the royalty owner process with Chesapeake. We're happy to have you as a part of our family, and I want to help take care of our family members! This is a general blog to address a variety of concerns, but if specific inquiries begin to emerge on a regular basis, I will split the topics as to better manage timely responses.
Thanks and enjoy!

I am interested in leasing my mineral rights in Harrison County. Chesapeake leased in 2008 for $20,000 an acre for the deep rights 10k and below. Then Obama was elected and no one was able to fracture the shale on my 114 acres. Can you research Alice Caprara 2008 made deal with Aubry McClendon. I am getting a lot of offers, need some advice please...Thanks
Katie,
I am a royalty owner in the Harris GU Sigler Survey, the well is being drilled now, do you have any information for me on the process.

Hi Katie. My concern is that there are non-leased sections that are surrounded by leased sections. I don't understand how these "islands" can remain unleased in a sea of leased sections.
For example, in 16N 14W, sections 3, 4, and 9 are unleased, yet sections surrounding them are? Why?
Thanks,
RL

I have an interest in the Graves 13-16-16 well, Serial #240450. The well was drilled in early 2010 and the most recent post on the LDNR website shows that the well was potentialed on July 6, 2010. Do you have any additional information if or when this well will be completed? There is production in all of the sections surrounding section 13, so it shouldn't be a pipeline or infrastructure issue. Any additional information you are able to provide would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Hi, Katie,
I received my first check today from CHK.
Thanks, again, for all your help.

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
