Chesapeake Royalty Owners in the Haynesville

Hi! My name is Katie and I work for Chesapeake Energy in the Haynesville. I would like to open this blog to answer any questions or help guide you through the royalty owner process with Chesapeake. We're happy to have you as a part of our family, and I want to help take care of our family members! This is a general blog to address a variety of concerns, but if specific inquiries begin to emerge on a regular basis, I will split the topics as to better manage timely responses.

Thanks and enjoy!

Yesterday Chesapeake hosted our annual Investor and Analyst meeting which gives insight into the results of past activities and plans for future endeavors. Below is a link to an analyst's review of the meeting and Chesapeake.

Depending on the size of the pad there could be multiple wells drilled from each. If these pads are close together they are likely straddling a section line. To get the max length laterals, it is a regular practice to drill from a pad in the adjacent section.

Do two pads mean two rigs or one?

Hey Shelby -

SONRIS is a great resource, but they are usually a few weeks behind actual time. If the well has reached total depth, that is typically an indicator they are about to begin the completions phase. You can give our Contact Center a call with your well number, and a representative can give you more specific details. 1-877-CHK-1GAS

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Katie, I have been following SONRIS since the first of 2010. A well in our section reached total depth in February and there have not been any updates on the site since. Does this mean the parish is behind in posting? That nothing is happening? That CHK has not supplied the information to the site? How can I find out these answers? Thank you, Shelby

Hey Ann - Don't feel hopeless! I can't give you specifics on that area, but a representative at our Call Center can go over your details. You can call them at 1-877-CHK-1GAS, or, if you would rather do this, I can have someone from the Call Center contact you.

Hey Sam - please see the discussions "CHK and Royalties" or "What price are you getting for gas?" The most updated information I have is listed there. If you are a CHK royalty owner and want to get specific information regarding your lease and pay stub, call our Contact Center at 1-877-CHK-1GAS.

MARG - I'd love to get you in touch with someone from our Land Department. If you contact our Call Center at 1-877-CHK-1GAS they will be able to locate a landman for your area who can speak with you. Thanks!
