If I haven't said it plainly enough, this is a wonderful service that you provide the online community. Thanks.
You are welcome, Dion. It is my hope that those members who wish to make informed decisions regarding their mineral interest are beginning to grasp the basics of tracking development activity in their area. Every member should have one or more township grids on which to record the development activity by all operators in at least a five to six mile radius. The SONRIS Help Center is a good place to start. And a number of members will help those who have questions or need a little assistance to get started.
Skip,
Someone may have already asked this and I was absent that day, but what do the numbers represent in each TS/R?
George, The number represent Drilling & Production Unit orders and/or applications. Most, but not all townships, have 36 sections. And the majority of D&P Units are a single 640 acre standard section. As you can see, all the sections in T15N-R11W now have unit orders. Larger units are generally formed along the Texas State Line and where bodies of water preclude surface well locations. In a general sense, tracking drilling units is a simple way to keep up with the boundaries of the Haynesville Shale Play. And comparing recent maps to older ones reveals where the current development activity is located.
Skip,
Thanks for that insight. You're a mecca of information.

Skip, Are the numbers across the top the range? and township the numbers down the side? Is it a good thing if a section has a big number in it?
Missy, you are correct. Townships with a big number in general have more development activity.
tELL ME ABOUT,GRAND CANE IN DESOTO PARISH
carl. As the map indicates, the town of Grand Cane is located in 13N - 14W. There are now 31 D&P units in the township indicating a high level of development activity. The following sections have unit orders or applications: S3-5, 7-10, 17, 18 to El Paso, S11, 16 to Mainland Resources, S12, 15, 25, 26, 35, 36 to Petrohawk, S27, 29, 32, 33 to BEUSA (Bridas Energy), S30, 31 to XTO and S13, 14m 20-24, 34 to Chesapeake. All these sections have Haynesville wells permitted, drilling or completed with the exception of Sections 13, 14, 16, and 20 - 24.
Skip, which section in 15/15 does not have a unit application???
Section 25.
Thank you, Skip
