This Exco well has been waiting on completion since 12/05/10.  Just wondering if that was normal for an XCO well?

Rainmaker,  I can't speak specifically to EXCO's "normal" completion lag but as of the end of January there were 512 HA wells Waiting On Completion in LA.  A lot of wells have waited longer than this well.  Some much longer.  There is still a shortage of high pressure pumping services and it can take a while for a frac crew to get to a well.
Thanks for that reply.  The amount of wells WOC puts everything into perspective.  Frac units are in high demand everywhere.  Halliburton has a 3-4 month book's worth in the Permian Basin.
Skip, what percentage of those 512 wells waiting on completion are Chesapeake wells would you guess?
Last PXP con call in 4Q said 120!
No idea, SB.
I'm under the impression that some operators have frac crews under some form of full time contract so that they can get them asap.  Is this true?  If so, what operators have this set up?
Rainmaker, there are multiple reasons for delays in completing wells (frac crews, water access, production facilities, downstream infrastructure, etc).
True.  Just wondering what an average well in Hville WOC.  It's looking like 90+ days with that kind of backlog.
Rainmaker, the backlog really began to increase in 2010 as drilling times shortened, some frac creaws stopped 24-hr operations and some resources moved to the Eagle Ford Shale play.
