Yeah, I called and they said the service that compiled and provided the information to everyone closed their doors! Sucks... it was the only way I could figure out how to see the new permits and completions since the companies that lease from us are so tight lipped about what they are up to! The Oil & Gas industry is like it's own secret society or sect.
I have been told I can get the same information from the TRRC site, but I will be darned if I can figure out the how's and where's of their site. What the site needs is a tutorial help screen to walk us through it... but I figure they deal with people who know and the rest of us really don't pay their bills (so to speak) so we don't really matter.
Anyway, if anyone can figure out where to get all of that information with the details we have on our leases, please educate the rest of us. :-)
I contacted the Tyler paper and was informed that they are going to work on gathering the information for us in the near future. I was pleasantly surprised. Guess we will wait and see.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
