Don't be too sure about that. There are those who are determined to kill natural gas at any cost. This article was published today. And they have charts too.

Wow. those are some cool looking charts. I don't know how much of the data is accurate as both of these pieces are from advocacy groups (which is fine with me as long as we recognize it)

The truth is usually somewhere in the muddy middle. We have too much natgas to ignore it - and we have too many citizens scared of fracking to ignore them. Meanwhile, renewables are too far expensive. Even if the price of natgas is raised to cover better extraction methods it will still be very cheap compared to alternatives.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
