Please post the name of the federal law that has the 1% tax on every banking transaction!

Please post a photo of your receipt with the $2 charge that is a Federal Tax!

It is legitimate to ask if there were any new taxes being imposed on O&G income for 2013. April 15 will be here before we know it. Maybe the battery intro could have been left out but that doesn't justify you calling her names. I didn't see anything she said that could be construed as remotely "racist"  ("the jeweler told me it a new tax from Obama he has to collect").

Not sure about the $2 on the battery but there are many new fees and taxes for 2014 as a result of the Affordable Healthcare Act, Obama's signature legislation.  Just because the man who sold the battery blamed Obama for the $2 fee does not make Kranky's statement racist. And unless you were standing there when the jeweler made his comment you have no grounds to call anyone a liar.  You sir owe the lady an apology!!!!!

Any member can request Keith to take action when they think it is warranted.  In the early days of the site there was a lot of partisan rancor and verbal fisticuffs on topics with no relation to the purpose of the site.  That's why there is a Political Group and a policy for keeping this kind of discussion in that group and off the Main Page.  Keith can't monitor every discussion and reply.  He appreciates it when members bring this kind of rule violation to his attention.

Seems  tc made the mistake of calling an older lady that is a member of GHS a racist? I have never read comments by her that would have led me to believe this. Maybe TC should be sent to the dog house in  the same manner as Gosh Darn?

I did not call Krkyoldhag a racist, just her rant.  But I should not have used the racist word.

However, Krkyoldhag was wrong to post obvious lies and then try to link them to Obama. 

Again I reiterate her misguided post should be located in the "Political & Off Topic" forum.  For a main forum post, only the last 3 sentences should have been included.

TC I have nothing against you or any  of your posts that I can remember other than this one. I do have problems with censorship and each ones ability to speak what it is that they have to say. The word racist has been thrown out too many times, in my opinion, in the last few years. What really is a racist?

There is a surtax on investment income of 3.8% for people with a "gain" of a certain amount in a certain income level. This can apply to real estate transactions and any other "windfall." One must admit, the disingenous way this law was passed from the self professed most transparent administration ever is hardly related to race. Some want to use race to bludgeon dissent on this out of control group of rulers.

The idea of having the site's Sheriff advise this thread be moved to political while allowing the promotion of Mary Landrieu on the very same general page tells me all there is to know.

If being sceptical of this administration and most public officials is now seriously tarred as racist, I anxiously await the house of cards to fall. What we have here now is not what we had before.

So the real tax rate on CG's is 27.5% with 3.8% dedicated to ObamaCare not 15 % as in the past. Hummmmm
