As Skip and I discussed in the Claiborne Parish Group, the Tellus horizontal well in the Smackover B formation looks like a remarkably good one, especially considering that there are numerous vertical wells in the same unit which have already pumped a lot of oil from the Smackover B. I hope this well will stimulate more interest in horizontal drilling in the Upper Smackover. In the interest of full disclosure, I have some unleased property about 9.5 miles NNW of this well.

Is this near Plain Dealing or Benton   I heard there was a well near this area.

No, Jim this well is in East Central Claiborne Parish, about 10 miles northeast of Homer.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
