$3.96 is the highest September Settlement Price since 2008. The average price year to date is incorrect in the table.  It should be $4.55.

Nope.  Here  in Texas just west of Fort Worth the price of gas at the pump is 3.16 a gallon.  Lowest price in three years at this time of year.  All that abundance of oil is having an effect.

I don't think that dbob is talking about gasoline.  But I could be wrong. :-) The last price I paid for gasoline here in Shreveport was $3.06.  It has probably gone down a few cents since then.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
