EXCO Analyst Meeting - A Ton of New Information (9/23/2009)

EXCO has just released information from their annual analyst meeting. Included was a statement about two recent wells with initial IP's of 30.1 & 29.6 MMcfd. There are also maps of the Haynesville Shale and Bossier Shale plays.

I noticed that they had a pretty impressive learning curve for their well completion times --
W.R., I have a small interest in Moran 34, so I appreciate the info. Do you know what choke size Exco is using when they report their IP's??? I know that Petrohawk normally reports their IP's while on a 24/64 choke.
It wasn't clear, but one person commented that they did not open them up to 30/64 "just for the IP." The impression I got (strictly impression) was that they probably open at 22 to 24 to get the water out, but not the sand. They did say that the production choke size after clean up is strictly driven by pressure readings and that all wells are currently at 20/64. They also said Oden (XCO's first well) was still producing 5 mmcfd at 2,900#.

Congrats on Moran 34. The pressure at 7,950# is excellent.
Thank you, w.r.
w.r., thanks for the info. The Means 25 #2 is completed or near completion as gas has been 'turned to sales" acording to Sonris. Any IP info on it yet? Also the Murray 24 #1 hasn't had an update on Sonris for a month or so. Any info?
w.r. frank, I was just curious if you had any new information on the flow test of Exco's Moran 34 well since your previous post???
No.
SB, the drinks are on you!!!

Congrats!!!!
Good idea, Les. LOL!
I have yet to get to get my first Haynesville Shale royalty check. Many $$$ leaving, hopefully some of them will come back. In the meantime, who wants to loan me a hundred? Ha, Ha!
Look at one of the slides in the XCO presentation. Based on $5 NG, 20 mmcfd IP, the gross cash is $22 MM, so a 20% royalty is $5.4 MM. Just a lttle sliver of the MI or royalty will buy a few drinks at the CUB.
Better make that $4.4 million, w.r. (1/5 of 22). I'm figuring a little differently than XCO. I'm guessing that a 20 million IP well probably has an EUR of at least 8 (eight) Billion. That makes the gross cash $40 million @ $5 gas, 1/5 of which is $8million. 5 mineral acres would still buy a few drinks @ the CUB, if I still drank! Not hard to tell that w.r. is from Shreveport!
