THE GHS HAYNESVILLE SHALE RIG TRACKER. 2021
I'll update each week so we can follow the rig count. I am only counting rigs drilling the Haynesville and Bossier formations. Many industry rig numbers are for the "Haynesville Area", however they may defined that, and includes wells drilling other formations.

Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on September 2, 2021 at 5:17 There is no free tracker for frack crews as far as I know. Some subscription services may have that data. You can review corporate presentations on a quarterly basis where companies will sometime state how many "dedicated" frack crews they deploy at any given time. In Louisiana, the SONRIS database will show a Work Order (very bottom section of a well file) that provides the effective dates for the work to be performed. The work would not be done before the initial date but those work orders are effective for twelve months so there is no way to know, short of on the ground intel, when the completion ops are actually taking place.

Best I can tell for KJ Energy is that they have filed no permits in Panola County in the last 2 years,
other than for Cotton Valley, & one Travis Peak
Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on September 7, 2021 at 6:47 Thanks for checking, Tom. I thought that the second time that the rig was reported would have included updated and more detailed information. The rig report relies on the rig operator for the weekly report details, not the well operator. So in this case, Helmerich & Payne would be providing the information. The purpose behind the report is to provide driving directions to the rig site. Here is a cut-and-paste of the listing for the Cassity #2 H in Panola Cty. It is strange and I've never seen this before in the weekly rig report.

Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on September 7, 2021 at 8:29 Thanks, Tom. I only list Haynesville/Bossier wells so I will remove the Cassity 2 H from the next rig update.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
