I particularly like the units of measure on the water.
CGU 10 53HH and CGU 10 54HH. I read the depth interval as being enar the top of the Haynesville or bottom of the Cotton Valley.

In plain language... what does all of this mean?
thanks
dbob, what did you link to? It looks like the link has a problem (404 error).
the link takes you to the TX RRC page for the well. But i still need some translation. you might need to cut and paste it.
thanks
dbob... sorry, i tried it again and it went to error. i wonder what happened. Maybe it was double secret stuff that operators pay for and us regular folk don't get to see.
JHH, we'll have to come back to this after 11:00 'cuz we are locked out now.
Except... I got some of the reports before they shut me down.
Ok - For the record, on one of the two wells, there was a typo instead of "gals" of water (gallons) it looked like "glas" (like glasses of water). Maybe someone will report water use in kegs?
The 53HH reported 139 bbls of condensate, 5406 mcf, at a flowing pressure of 4135 psi
The 54HH reported 156 bbls condensate, 5478 mcf, at a flowing pressure of 4515 psi. I'm on a slow computer right now and can't upload the G-1 or G-5 but at least in Anadarko's operating footprint, they seem to have a resource worth chasing at current pricing.
dbob, are there other operators duplicating Anadarko's completion results? Do you think they are landing their laterals in a different interval of the HA than the first horizontal completions that were sub-economic in Panola? Can you post monthly production on one of the APC wells that has been producing for an extended period of time? How's the decline look?
skip,
To my knowledge, no other operator is having the same results as Anadarko. The production reports for the most recent month (july) available shows no haynesville condensate and about 2400 bbls of Cottonvalley condensate, so maybe the "success" is only in the completion report. It did not merit a mention in the most recent Anadarko presentation

Based on pressure, I think they are landing a little shallower than other operators.
Thanks. Looks like Anadarko is about to drill some CV/HA horizontals here in north Caddo. I was wondering about the economics. Their last presentation did seem to highlight their new and/or increased NGL take away capacity in Panola. Page 14.
Jay, the completion reports for the handful of HA completions in the area of the APC drilling units show little or no liquids. The interval was said to be approximately 300' thick in early press releases by operators actively engaged in development and I presume that the fracs on those early wells basically covered that total thickness. I'm just puzzled at what APC could do differently that would increase liquid production and make economic HA wells. Every time I come to that conclusion I suspect that the real target is not the HA but one or more shallower zones. Bossier or CV based on the field order depth definitions for the HA in that part of the world. APC should have 6 units approved prior to the end of this month and maybe then we will see a well permit or two. I wish them success.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
