Many have asked why the wells in the northern portion of the play are not as good. It appears that the porosity is the culprit. Note the PDF of the Goldco (Now Matador) E & L Development well.

Which Townships would be considered northern?

"We all know that the Haynesville Shale production will end "somewhere"!

Blasphemy!!! Braveheart LOL, if it was everywhere it wouldn't be worth anything.
What do you think about township 17 in relation to the shale. What is the thickest known level of the shale and where is located?
ShaleGeo & Braveheart. What is the chance that a different completion profile would be more successful in the north Caddo portion of the shale? A different frac fluid or proppent for example. Possibly even a different reservoir. And as to thickness, It would be instructive, IMO, to discuss the difference between gross thickness and net thickness.
We have engineers on this site? LOL! Okay, Mmaarrkk, where ya at? I think that we need to advertise for a few more reservoir engineers and geologists. Not that we don't have some good ones (Thank you, Jay), it's just that a HS site can use a full compliment. I believe that we have a sufficient number of landmen at present? Ha!
The Floor is Open.
Jay to me you are as good as it gets cause you have been here from the get go with a short vacation. If you want to ride with me for a day, I would be glad to have you on board. You have helped many on this site and I am sure they would say much ablidged Jay.
Double Ditto.
Jay, Would the lack of porosity in the northern sections have a detrimental effect on the pressure gradient. In other words would it seem to have less porosity and be less overpressured?
Thanks, Jay.......But it could easily have lower porosity and lower pressure than the shale further south?
"Not a problem. I like the site when it is about the shale. "

This site is always the best when I get to hear professionals like Jay talk about the Shale, we all appreciate your knowledge.
