Baker Hughes Rig Count: U.S. +6 to 929 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 6 rigs from last week to 929, with oil rigs up 2 to 749, gas rigs up 4 to 180, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.

U.S. Rig Count is up 332 rigs from last year's count of 597, with oil rigs up 272, gas rigs up 61, and miscellaneous rigs down 1 to 0.


The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 2 rigs from last week to 20 and down 2 rigs year-over-year.

Baker Hughes seems to count all rigs in north and northwest LA as "Haynesville".  Five of the wells are drilling Cotton Valley in Lincoln and Jackson parishes (not "Haynesville area") and in the "Haynesville Area" not all rigs are drilling Haynesville Shale wells.   Go figure.

I'd sure take them here verses the big goose egg we have now, whatever the target was! 

It's the same in TX. The one rig in Nacogdoches is drilling Travis Peak and the one in Shelby is in the Cotton Valley.

We currently have 6 rigs in San Augustine, 2 in Angelina (missing on BH map), 1 in Gregg (missing on BH map) and 4 in Panola that are actually drilling HA.
