I can't comment on Sabine County, as they are still in the leasing phase over there, not sure if anyone has drilled for the James Lime or Haynesville yet. JWC, When you say only ones left, what do you mean?

jffree I am wondering the same thing. Are we the only ones left? Something tells me the gas is here. I know for sure Encana and Devon have leased just south of 103. Our time will come. As you say the gas isn't going any where. Let's just hope and pray for some good well data. I will update this site if I hear anything. Hang in there jffree.

Is it your opinion that the same holds true for Sabine County? By this I mean do you think that is why they seem to be leasing North of 103 but not much South.

I'm not sure exactly where the test well is located, just heard about one being drilled. And yes, there are good numbers from Cabot's wells, but based on poor results from other wells to the south and east, it doesn't look like the trend extends very far south of the SA/Shelby County Line.

What about all those big Cabot numbers they tested in SA county? They may not have been HS but they did have some pretty big production. Wouldn't these lead to some interest in the area even without the HS tests?

There are wells being drilled in SA County as we speak, one of which is a Haynesville test. Until the results of that well are known, which is likely to take several months, the values placed on SA minerals will be nothing more than a guess. If it's a barnburner, leasing will open up full throttle again...but if it's a duster, the acreage nearby will be condemned, and you won't have to worry about dealing with a landman ever again.

And, also, we will have to get some good well data that justifies (O&G's/investors) spending more exploration dollars here looking for HS gas. Now it's time to drill.

JWC, are you and I the only ones left??? I know things look dire at the moment but the gas is still here. It's not going anywhere unless someone drills a hole in the ground to get it out. That means that sooner or later someone is coming to get it.
What did I say right after Ike? Looks like we will have to wait....until after the election, until the credit loosens up, until investors gets back in the game. Until after the fourth quarter when everyone historically slows down leasing activities in a normal year.
There is a lot of CASH in the economy right now that is not making much profit for anyone and sooner or later they (investors) will have to put it back to work. All the gloom and doom being spread around by certain people is just that. Some are thinking (hoping?) that this is the opportunity needed to get us to lease again at bargain basement prices so the leases can be flipped for a profit once activity heats up again. Only the fearful will fall for that.
If one doesn't have a lease today, nothin's gained but nothin's lost either, in my opinion. And, now we are all wiser about what our minerals may actually be worth, whenever the landman (lady) does call.
