Does this mean anything for the "little guy" land owner? I was leased back in 2007 and have been unleased for several years. Does anyone see any chance for the "little guy" landowner to be leased again? Just curious.
When lease bonus payments were between $3,000 and $30,000 an acre...it was a big deal for the little guy. Now it seems... given our political environment and the desire for the O/G companies to make their money back... the little guy will have to sit in the sidelines for a while. Hopefully that will change soon and we get a little balance.
Little ole 1st grade teacher,
CNBC is the only Cable Network that has been 100% behind a National Energy Policy/Plan that uses Nat Gas as a major "highway" that needs building for the U.S. to become Energy Independent and to create more JOBS as a result. Many CNBC Analysts have been very vocal about same, Kudlow, Cramer, etc.
Talk is now Turning toward this Nat Gas Movement...In Washington D.C. But it will still take much more for the U.S. to WAKE-UP. But once that happens... the "little guy" landowners IMO will see interest again in land leasing.
Voting For the Nat Gas Bill will also help the "little guy" land owner getting leased too:

IMO, Our Congress needs to GET IT DONE NOW! Or face being fired by their Constituents who will be back home Paying for Congress's Inaction @ $4 gasoline this Summer...
IMHO...Idiots!

I just saw the Senate voted AGAINST the Natural Gas Amendment. David Vitter (R) La. voted against it!
JHH,
I need a DRINK!
And, David Vitter NEEDS TO BE FIRED....TODAY!
1st grade- I haven't seen any one ask about where your land is located. One thing that the price of gas or the action or in-action of political bodies can't change is whether you have a gas field or a goat field. A lot of land here in AR was leased 5-6 years ago for the F'ville that turned out to not be prospective at all for production. You may want to mention your location, then someone that is familiar with that part of the world can give you some insight on it's potential or not. Even if you have a well "next door", it may be marginal at best and not enough to entice someone to sign on.
BTW- I was in first grade in 1970-71. My first grade teacher told us that we would not even remember her name. It was Ms. Beaver. I was blown away when I realized I was actually reading. A lot of them I have forgotten, but I do remember Ms. Beaver...

This is a worthwhile report to watch. CNBC has been the only network promoting natural gas.
I was watching CNBC this morning and also saw Glenn Yago as a guest (Byrd 1970) He's a big time financial guy these days. At Byrd he was the class comedian. You never know how someone is going to grow up!!
HANG,
Right ON!
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
