If oil keeps going lower, we will probably see more short ones like today's
Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on November 17, 2013 at 3:25 dbob, even short reports may contain interesting information.
Permalink Reply by dbob on November 17, 2013 at 3:28 completely agree - the Smackover and Glen Rose permits in today's are probably in that category.
Where folks put the money when the chips are down a little tells you a lot about where the ROI is best....
Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on November 17, 2013 at 3:35 I'm not referring to ROI here but to interesting exploration activity. The Glen Rose is fairly common. A horizontal well in the SMK B is not.
Permalink Reply by obed w odom on November 17, 2013 at 5:11 This is indeed interesting, Skip. As we discussed in the Claiborne Parish group, the unit for this well was approved on June 28, 2013. I'm glad to see they finally permitted it. This is the first SMK B horizontal permit that I have seen.

I totally agree with you on this, Skip. I am anxiously awaiting results for McMahen well near Walkerville. I would think they should be flowing back now. I like that location a lot.
This is a time of year when drilling slows down due many companies have used up drilling budget for year. Also, a number of companies are awaiting results of Millerton 3-D seismic study area before staking more locations. Hopefully it will be complete by years end.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly.
