Skip,

Why don't the Exco locations show in Sonris?

fwiw, the new apc caddo parish location, sloan 34-4h, isn't shown on sonris either.

Too early to expect them.  Check on Monday.   The Times gets the paper copies from the local district office where they are generated.  They are forwarded to Baton Rouge where the SONRIS staff will enter them in the database.  Keep in mind that over the course of the last 7 years the present administration has eliminated staff in all departments including DNR/OOC.    Lag times in entering data has grown.  Cutting state jobs sounds good to many until the cuts effect them.  The last time I was at the state building for something other than the OOC files/staff assistance was the Department of Revnue to pay taxes on a boat.  There was one staff member on duty where before there would have been 2 - 3 and there was a sign that stated the office hours for Tuesday and Wednesday as those were the only days it was open.  That's crazy.

I thought that the 10 Haynesville Shale permits by BHP would draw some comment.  Since it hasn't I'll put it in a little different perspective.  BHP has permitted 26 new wells in the last 60 calendar days.  That is a rate last common in 2010/2011.  With 25 being HC or Cross Unit Lateral wells they  actually equal the laterals of 40 old design Haynesville Shale wells. The BHP Haynesville Shale field office which has been lightly manned since it's completion over a year ago now has a lot of white pick ups.

skip, a few months ago, chk said they could make money drilling haynesville @ > $4.00. they backed that talk up by bringing some rigs.

imo, looks like bph has come to the same economic cpnclusion.

I'd have to agree with you, jim.  From mid-April through mid-May CHK permitted 15 wells with 8 being HCs.  Adjusting for HC laterals that's equal to 20 of the old design wells.

I got an "Interested Owner" notification from CHK a few weeks ago for a hearing to drill several wells adjoining my acreage.  the unit plat was a bit confusing to me - 3 sections lined up north and south.  this land is partially impacted by the Dolet Hills lignite mine, so that may explain it.  but it appears that the planned wells would start from the north side of the northern most section (18-12-13) and go south and from the southern most section (25-12-13) and go north.  I thought that the cross section wells we just for 2 sections.

Cross unit laterals can be permitted for any portion of two adjoining drilling units.  I've yet to see one that included more than a section and a half. Your notice letter sounds like a three section north-to-south unit with drilling pads on the northern and southern boundaries.  If that is correct the laterals will likely be a section and a half each with half those wells drilled south from the northern surface locations and half drilled north from the southern surface locations.

Click the blue link to view the well file for each well.

Thanks, olddog.  I have seen a number of variations in the layout of Cross Unit Haynesville wells.  This one is different from those that I recall previously.  The laterals depicted here are only slightly longer in length than the standard lateral drilled within a 640 acre unit.  From my layman's prospective it appears that the two sets of laterals (3 HC for SU58 & SUK and 2 HC for SUK & SUHH) are designed to frac the rock between SU58 and SUK that would not be stimulated, or produced, under the prior single section set back requirements of 330' from a unit boundary.  That 660' (330' on each side of a shared unit boundary line) has been a concern of operators since in early in the play.  If you extrapolate that 330" boundary per one section unit across the entire area of the proven play it's a lot of rock and lot of shale that does not produce NG.  The over-lapping laterals could be a way to get at all that rock that was off limits prior to the advent and approval of Cross Unit Laterals (HC wells).
