Claude, in the industry the term, "spud", refers to the first time the drill bit hits the dirt. The first day of drilling the well is the "spud date".

Hopefully, we'll have some news by the time NARO State convention rolls around on May 6 & 7.
Is the section correct on this well? T1S R1W does not have a section 47 or am I missing something.

Lisa, there are "irregular" sections all over the state. More so where there have been major waterways that have shifted course over geologic time. Also keep in mind that the section listed on SONRIS is the "surface location". You have to review the well plat to see where the planned perforations are located.
Erwin #1 was nine days drilling @ 3525' on Friday, 4/5.
Why would Conservation put the unit on a skew to the existing survey lines, which run vertical and horizontal for the most part? What a nightmare that must be for the surveyor. AC units are geographic, not geophysical. This it total nonsense.
