I was just looking at that too Skip!   Not even on the GIS map yet.   Looks like it is also in Allen Parish section 23.  Good news for the area.   Drilling on both sides of me.   Fingers crossed.

It takes a day or so for a new well file to be opened and the details to be entered in SONRIS. Since Prime Rock is creating a new zone definition it will be interesting to hear just what formations are included in that depth interval.  I suspect that what Prime Rock is calling Eagle Ford is actually Tuscaloosa.  Maybe Rock Man can provide some detail.

I looked at the Pan Am log, which they used to define the zone. It is, in fact, the Eagleford, aka the Eutaw in LA and MS. Not very impressive on the log. The chalk looks better.

Thanks, Mike.  When the TMS was being explored by several E&Ps about six years ago in MS and the Florida parishes of LA there were site discussions about the same formation in western LA which several companies called Eagle Ford.  Same area where Prime Rock has formed these two drilling & production units.  And your interpretation of the log matches what those Eagle Ford wells revealed.  EOG drilled a test well in Vernon.  I do not recall the other companies but I think EOG's results would suffice for most in the industry.

Skip if you look at the LA DNR Application for public hearing documents on this well (area) one says Eagles Ford Sands Unit A-B & the other says Austin Chalk Sands Unit T-U.   Not sure if this matters or not.   I have attached the Eagles Ford above & below the AUS.

Combining the two for HBP purposes.

Skip this might by interesting or helpful too.

Keep'm spudding!  Good news for our area!

New entry on sonris for this well today. Doesn’t sound good

11/06/2019. Drilled 12 1/4” hole to 14,901; stuck; backed off @ 14755 and worked stuck pipe; unsuccessfully.

wow is it normal to drill 12.25" hole to 14,901???

I have a question concerning this well.  Can it be salvaged?  Or is it unrepairable?

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
