Recent developments in New Mexico have Bob Gallagher, head of the NMOGA, leaving his post amid what appear to be contentions over his opinions regarding state regulations, the "direction" in which the NMOGA wishes to take it's organization, and a state administration that is attempting to revamp it's oversight of the industry.…

What is the role of the landman?

My family and I asked a highly recommended landman to
represent us in obtaining a release from the company we
originally signed with.

The lease has run out and we want to get another company
involved.

So far the landman we are working with keeps making
promises to us, but so far we have no results.

We are anxious to move on. Any suggestions as to what
we do, since we do not have the release.

new to shale

I am a novice with shale blog> Have a question...Are most of the Shale wells "good" wells? Also, about how long is the process, once the drilling begins...and is it bad luck to ask these questions?

Sabine Co. Pipeline

A landman just left my house with the most ridiculous propasal to run a pipeline through my land. They are well below the industry average. They are not even offering half as much as other counties and parishs in the area. I hope the other land owners reject the proposal as well.

section30 8n 11w

about 20 or thirty years ago chevron drilled a deep well in that area. several of the majors were in on it. rumor was they went about 10,000 ft deep and hit on top of a massive salt dome and plugged and abandoned the well. does any body know any thing about this. I WONDER IF THIS MIGHT BE THE REASON FOR LACK OF INTEREST IN THIS AREA(T8N 11WEST.

Mineral payments problem

Does anyone else out there receiving or expecting to receive payments for NG taken from your wells think the gas companies are screwing up your division orders and second-year property usage payments on purpose to bank on the interest and keep money out of our pockets.

There seems like a lot of dim-wits are working in the offices of some of the Encore and Petrohawk locations. We have rights on one producing well now, one which has been fracked and another about to be fracked and we… Continue

Jindal Concerned about EPA Regulation

From his press release

"Unfortunately, proposals to regulate greenhouse gasses by the Environmental Protection Agency could threaten our continued economic progress. Last week I wrote to the Administrator of the EPA in Washington to object to their new proposals, which would have a chilling effect on refining and production capability in Louisiana and force employers to reduce their workforces or even possibly move their businesses to other countries. We need sensible… Continue
