Lions, tigers, and bears...think about it, a bear shows up in the middle of the night, it's dark, the fire is out; who do you think will outrun the bear, the kids or the old man?
the older man will outrun the bear; the older man has knowledge and wisdom...one knows you can not outrun a bear.
When I was a young one, I was bullet proof and bear proof. Today I could be a victim of a bear attack or a drive by shooting.
I just need to be quicker than whoever I push down and step over on my way out of the door!
