Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Colorado, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jefferson, Lee, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, Washington & Wharton.
Some of these counties are also included in the Eagle Ford (North) Group because of shale development but the main targets in this region for the last couple of years appears to have been in either the Austin Chalk fields or in the Yegua/Cook Mountain.
Everyone is welcome. If you want to talk about another formation or type of development that I haven't mentioned, please, feel free to open a discussion.

Hello, All
I thank you guys for your focus on this play as I have been watching it for the last 8 months from close by. We hear that Navidad & Burk have a combined 120,000 acre play in Houston and Madison Co. They have 6 rigs running and are completing a well every 10 days & the rock trucks are running every week building new pads, Landowners tell me that most wells IP @ 200-400 bopd but fall to 50% after 4 months but a few of these Vertical wells have hit 800-900 bbls--- understand they have contracted with CIMA to set up more infrastructure and are begging for 3 ph elec. power to run pump stations etc. --- Houston Co. is in RRC Dis. 6 yet I have seen some of the filings were sent in to District 3 not sure WHY ? ---- They have managed to keep this thing hush hush ---- but more and more companies are showing up in the courthouse every week now and there is a leasing frenzy in process --- understand that the Horizontal Woodbine wells will start before the end of the year as new companies are moving east out of Madison and Leon Counties to test the "EAGLEBINE" --- despite the frenzy, leases are still cheap because most folks do not understand what is going on ----- PGS Onshore did a massive 3D shoot in Houston Co. back in 2007---- if I think of anything else I will add later
New Houston County Permit by Western Chief Operating - David Blakely #1 - looks like a another multizone completion. Surveying company is a firm out of Tyler that I'm familiar with - Plat date is very recent.
Western Chief is new to this area but has had a fairly active drilling program in other parts of the state.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
