Texas Upper Gulf Coast Counties

Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Colorado, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jefferson, Lee, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, Washington & Wharton.

Some of these counties are also included in the Eagle Ford (North) Group because of shale development but the main targets in this region for the last couple of years appears to have been in either the Austin Chalk fields or in the Yegua/Cook Mountain.

Everyone is welcome.  If you want to talk about another formation or type of development that I haven't mentioned, please, feel free to open a discussion.

Bosco -  Family says no seismic they can recall in the last 4-5 years.  They noted a few wells that were completed between Lovelady and Crockett a few years back, and that there had been some production in Lovelady proper historically.  Family also reports lots of irrigation piping (8"-10"), heavy truck traffic, and flushing some lines, etc.  Oh, and tearing up the roads..  Sounds like there is currently some fracing going on.

Dbob...that is exactly what I am hearing..I seems they are drilling without using seismic, or new seismic...I have asked around and everyone tells me there has been little to no new acquisiton in that area....

I'll have to ask a family member, but I don't think there has been anything recent there. I think there was a speculative shoot done around Crockett proper and available from one of the geophysics companies (Sietel?).

thanks for the info Dbob....I have been looking at that activity, as well as Burk and Navidad..there have been about 30 perimits filed by that group in the last year. They all seem to be targeting Buda, Glenrose, Geortgetown and Edwards...the usual suspects in the area, which is a hit and miss deal. I hope they have a technique   to highgrade the locations. If not and they are just drilling to hold acreage they may find themselves upside down...have you seen any seismic activity in the area in the last two years?

LLOG Exploration just filed three Lovelady area permits, wildcats with depth of 12,500 feet.... Sharing the wealth or someone looking to get in on the action?

I spoke with the guys at Burke Royalty several weeks ago and they say they are in partnership with Navidad over 125000 acres in Houston County. They are drilling well after well but I see very little production...i wonder what the master plan is because the Buda - Georgetown - Glen Rose is tough to make money....

Navidad permitted the Crespi #1H well in Houton County today.  Crespi #1H API 225-31202.  Its field is listed as Fort Trinidad, East (Buda) so call it a Buda Lime target.  It shows a 5000+ foot lateral.  Its the first  horizontal permitted by Navidad.

Navidad Resources spudded the Garrison #1, 225-31199, in Houston Co. this week.  The permit is similar to the wells being drilled around Lovelady (13-14,000' wildcat) but this one is 11 miles southwest of Lovelady in the G. Badillo Survey, A-4.

No, its Houston county, but right on the county line. I took a look at the well records for the Von Rosenberg well. Completion depth is in the 10,900- 11,600 range, although there was a casing warping problem with frac. Frac was pretty modest and include acidizing. top of Paluxy was something like 10,700.

Is that Madison County, dbob?
