If a gas lease does not specify how soon royalty payments will start after production, does an O&G company have a time limit in which to make the first payment? (This is in Caddo Parish, La.)

NY State Admits Ignoring Threat to City’s Drinking Water
Well Duh!
Like I said: If hydraulic fracturing is so damn safe, why does Big Oil need exemptions?
In two documents released last October and earlier this month, the Department of Environmental Conservation declared that it “does not…find a significant environmental impact…

Here is an overview of what the new Economic Stimulus package is going to mean to your taxes. Please remember that there are a lot of specifics that haven't been announced yet, so these are mostly generalizations.
1. Nothing that I have been able to locate yet that will directly impact HS money, like tax breaks for that type of income.
2. People on unemployment will receive an extra $25 a week, a longer time to draw benefits, and the first $2400 will be tax exempt on their federal…

Caddo Resources
Does anyone know the differences between Caddo Resources LLC, Caddo Resources GP, Caddo Resources LP and Caddo Resources Inc? I know that Richard McFarland was President of one and Rex Corey Jr is President of several others. Is there a connection between all of them? Caddo Resources LP (Rex Corey Jr) sold Goodrich Petrolem land for 32 million dollars. Has anyone had any dealings with either Richard McFarland or Rex Corey Jr? What about Delta Interest Inc out of Marshall,…

Shalers,
It’s fun being on the back end of this site and observing your activity. I posted a discussion today listing the top ten groups in terms of how busy they are. I think there are some surprises in the list. See the list here http://www.gohaynesvilleshale.com/forum/topics/busiest-groups-on-the-site
I have been trying to add some tools to maximize the site’s usefulness. I have added a box, front and center and just below the main picture, which…

I never paid a lot of attention to black history month and have even fallen pray to the “why isn’t there a white history month” mentality.
I’m not old enough to have lived the atrocities that existed in the past. I have to admit that even though I felt sympathy at the types of things that I read about, I didn’t really “feel the pain” in a gut wrenching manner. It was something that I understood was horrendous but it was mostly all before my time. It was inexcusable but it didn’t…

A friend of mine died yesterday. She was only 42 years old. She did not have cancer or some other horrible disease. She was not in an accident. She was shot to death by the man who claimed to love her. She left him last Friday. He called her yesterday and asked her to come to his apartment. Unfortunately she went. He was waiting there with a shot gun. He shot her twice as she tried to escape then turned the gun on himself. He left behind 2 children to wonder why he would kill and commit…

I recently learned that many people approaching retirement did not know all of the options available to them in terms of receiving their Social Security Retirement benefits. I am trying to find out how much to ask for when negotiating a salt water disposal well on my property. The negotiation is on a price per barrel basis. What should I ask for?

Hello,
I am new to the sight and the gas industry. I am trying to find out some information to assist my 82 year old mom. She gets her royalty checks that shows the money is for gas drawn from the James Lime Formation. How or does it relate to the Haynesville Shale? How big is the James Lime formation? Her property is located near the center of and most northern San Augustine county.
Thanks for your information,
Brodie Riner, Jr.

Many of you have looked to various indicators and bellwethers as to the general health of the industry as a whole, and in particular, how same will apply to the Haynesville Shale for the coming year. From those of us "in the business", many of us look to the turnout, prospects, and outlook gleaned at NAPE (formerly the North American Prospect Expo) as a significant bellwether as to the general state of the business in the coming year.
A little background:
NAPE began in…
